Its been just over a year since the Jane Bradfords released our debut album. While I will avoid the usual ‘it seems like yesterday’ cliché it really doesn’t seem like a year! It also doesn’t seem like about 2 years since I tried (unsuccessfully) to set up the Jane Bradfords blog…

So, here it is… at last. Hello! I’m Declan. Generally people (including my mother) call me Deci. Sometimes I don’t even capitalise the ‘d’ at the start. While I’m not sure how or why I opted out of capitalisation, I would hazard a guess that somewhere along the line I may have believed lower casing to be cooler.

To the unitiated, The Jane Bradfords started off as a pile of songs that I wrote and recorded in my bedroom. It swiftly became a 4 piece live act and just last night we played with 7 musicians onstage for the first time!

Over the next few months/years/decades I’m gonna try and use this blog to sort of explain what we’re up to, for better or for worse; A chance to delve into the inner psyche of the Jane Bradfords and pick at the synapses and veins… Or maybe you’ll just find me writing about music I like.  Either way, I’m treating it as my 21st century therapy.
